Everything seemed perfect\u2026 until they discovered it was built on land subject to a building lease.<br \/>\nTheir first reaction was: \u201cOh, so this isn\u2019t a good deal?\u201d<br \/>\nNot at all! My advice is simple: a surface rights lease isn\u2019t a deal-breaker, as long as you understand the rules. It\u2019s essential to check the remaining term of the lease, the amount of the ground rent, and the renewal conditions.<br \/>\n<strong>My advice?<\/strong>  Don&#8217;t let the term &#8220;surface rights&#8221; deter you.
